Steve Schapiro collaborated with the artisans at S2 in utilizing the atelier’s proprietary printing process called “fusion”. Using the artist’s original negative as the basic matrix, the photographic image was separated mechanically onto four seperate plates. Thereafter, five additional plates were created by hand by the atelier’s skilled artisans making a total of 9 separate plates from which the edition was pulled. “The Whisper” was printed at S2 Editions Ltd. Atelier in 2002 on a vintage German Dufa offset press. Includes certificate of authenticity.
